Good morning from a very frigid Minnesota!!!! The wind chills are hovering in the high minus 40's. Horrible. Thankfully, they called school for today yesterday afternoon!

Good COLD morning, Deb! It's -2 on my thermometer. They've closed schools in Cininnati even though there's no snow falling, roads are clear and the schools are heated ~ 'talk radio' says they do that to avoid lawsuits.:-< What you wanna bet that most of the kids will be outside playing in this cold weather.

I pick 2011 and 2012. FRNash, ol' Al is hibernating until the temps go back up.:-/

FJL, let the people in Atlanta buck-up like we do in the UP. :)

I have a nephew and niece in law living in Atlanta...they are not wimps! It is not easy going down there right now as this storm is unlike they are ever prepared for. They are bucking up as best as they can!

Just e mailed my niece in law in Atlanta and to find out how things are going. There are 100's of abandon cars every where. I mentioned the wimps and buck up comment made here, in Heather's sweet self way she only replied, I'm not stooping to that low to make a comment."

Janie, your niece-in-law is truly a gracious lady.:)

We have no idea what the people in Atlanta or any other part of the country are going through. Weather other than what you're used to is always hard. I'm with Shirley and Janie and Janie's niece-in-law on this one.

The airport is really struggling as over 600 employees were not able to make it in!

When I was a teenager in the winter of '50/'51, we had a terrible ice storm in Nashville ~ we were without power for several days but thankfully we had a coal-fired furnace which my daddy could 'feed' by hand since the stoker wouldn't work. Mama heated pans of soup over the grates/vents ~ so we were warm and had food.:) It was creepy because we could hear big limbs breaking off the trees at night. Needless to say, Nashville was at a standstill. This type of situation happens so rarely in the south that it really is hard when it does.
