If you're just discovering the Pasty Cam, welcome! This daily glimpse of life from the U.P. has been coming your way for almost 16 years (5,812 days to be exact). Along the journey we have seen Yoopers cope with winter conditions in some unique ways.
Yesterday's shot from Anthony Abe inspired me to Google 'snowblower' images in the Pasty Cam archives, and these four brought back some memories:
Beverly Camp spotted the Yooper Roof Brigade almost 10 years ago on top of that neat looking cabin. Peg Hardt gives us a look at the Power Shovel technique, while Bob Gilreath focuses on the Old Fashioned Method. The final scene is one of my favorites from R.C. Wetton, including that subliminal message about Fresh Hot Pasties. (No doubt you've been thinking of sending some to your Valentine, right? :o)
A special welcome to all who've (re)discovered Pasty Central on Facebook. We have been including a video version of Pasty Central Day in History, which today marks the official admission of Michigan to the Union back in 1837.
I remember the 1st picture ~ had never seen a snow thrower used on a roof before. Since then it seems common ~ or, more probably, i'm on the look-out now!
