Here in the Keweenaw, when we talk about "the bridge", we're referring to the Portage Lake Lift Bridge, which is the only connection for the strip of land to the northernmost reaches of the Keweenaw. It is not something that I think about often, as I just take for granted that it is there and always open for crossing (except when the Ranger III or a sailboat is passing under). Thanks to those that work on the bridge and keep it operating smoothly each day, so that we're able to go about our business, crossing over and back without giving it an extra thought.
Today's photos of our Gateway to the Keweenaw, were snapped by Chris Wood Anderson. I can't decide which one I like better, the night time shot with the glow of lights, illuminating the scene or the daytime photo, with the brightness coming from the white of the snowy surroundings. Which one do you like better and why?

I like the night pic with the glow of lights; maybe it's because I'm a night owl.

Great photos of "the bridge." It is "the way home" for many of us!

I agree about the 'glow' of the night scene. It almost looks like a painting! Have never seen the bridge in that Winter light.
