The temperatures warmed up here in the Keweenaw over the weekend, so plenty of folks got outside to get the massive accumulation of snow off their roofs. We have a trio of photographers here today, giving us a glimpse of all that shoveling and the results.
The first three photos come to us from Sally Beaudette, who said that her grandson had seen his Dad and his Papa shoveling off the roofs around their homes, so he decided that he would dig in to help too, by clearing off the dog house roof. What a great helper he is and a tired out one, too, as you can tell in Sally's third photo. ;-)
Then Sierra Bishop, her husband, Rob and their son were "UP to snow good", shoveling their garage roof in the next two photos. Rob went up there first to clear a spot so they could all get up there to work on it. At the halfway point, Sierra and their son went inside to take a break and snapped a photo of what they still had to do after the break. Sure hope they went back out to help Rob!
That's Mandy and Giselle in the last photo, a pair of peeping dogs that belong to Judy Byykkonen. You may recognize these two, as they've been on the Pasty Cam before, but for today's shot, they're perched on top the mountain of snow that was pushed off Judy's roof and on to her deck. Funny how our four-legged friends enjoy being outdoors, but still want to know what's going on inside. Too bad they can't be trained to shovel off that deck for Judy.

Awesome pictures! Sally's grandsons are so darn cute and I knew that was Judy's picture because I saw it on FB and laughed at it then, too.
That's a lot of snow. I hope it will help raise the water levels this year.J

WOW! all that snow!! Sally's grandson, in the second photo, appears to be saying: "You didn't tell me I'd work up a sweat in this cold!";) Mandy and Giselle are saying: "Goodness, look how we've grown this winter.";> Great pix, Sally, Judy, and Mary!

I especially love the pictures of Sally's grandson and Judy's dogs "peeping in"! I knew you all have a lot of snow from reading John Dee's journal this week - he had lots of pictures similar to these, etc. He said there was a big difference in the amount of snow he got vs Calumet, which is just about 7 or 8 miles away as the crow flies.
One thing about it - the Michigan Tech kids shouldn't have to have to go way out in the country to truck in more snow for their statues this year!
Crazy how much snow y'all have up there!! We here in Marquette have maybe 18" on the ground, that's it. Kind of glad I don't have to worry about shoveling snow. :)
