Jeff Dennis and family took a drive out to their camp at Little Traverse Bay, to check on how the winter is treating their summer retreat. Sure looks like everything is surviving this snowy, cold winter we're enduring, including the beautiful views that Jeff was able to capture.

That first photo is so pristine, with the snow untouched and the Lake Superior waters, shrouded by the bank of clouds off in the distance. But I think my favorite of Jeff's pictures here today, is the second one, with his kids tramping through the snow, along the trail back to the road and the warmth of the truck. I love to see the kids outdoors enjoying the fresh air and in this case here today…the winter sunshine!

I was surprised by the last photo, to see the ice out there looking so shiny and smooth. It looks like you could strap on your skates and glide around on top of the Big Lake, akin to walking on water. Here again, another beautiful winter scene!

I thoroughly enjoyed the photos today. I think we all have to be checking our roofs !

Looks like Jeff's children love this kind of weather!

Lot of good memories of Little Traverse at Laurence and Catherine's camp. Fishing on the slough in back of the out house. Setting off fire works on the beach with a fire blazing near-by. Lying on the cool sand, looking up at the star filled sky, trying at times to reach up and touch one. These are the things one never forgets......

Bet that sand is really 'cool' today, FJL!;>
