Whenever Marilynn Bachorik visits the U.P., she's out exploring. Today's photos were taken in the Munising area, showing what the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore looks like with a winter coat on. Those are some big icicles on the steep walls, along with plenty of small icebergs in the amazingly blue water, too.

Marilynn's second shot is an interesting angle of Miner's Castle, with the ice built up along the Lake Superior shoreline and the castle in the distance, looking a little like a mirage.

When winter coats the landscape and water's edge, it changes how things look here UP North. The one thing that always remains, though, is the beauty… you can find it in any season.

We're looking at -18°F here in Cornell now. Not as cold as those from yesterdays camnotes, but it'll do 'til it cools off. :o) These cold days the birds are sure going through a lot of the sunflower seeds. Sure glad I feed them. Love to see the chickadees, nuthatches, finches and wood peckers around the feeders.

We have a frigid temperature of -25 outside of Ontonagon! Coldest day today. Temperatures are suppose to be on the rise after today. Stay warm out there.

I hope to get some better photos when we get back up later this
week. We were supposed to head up on Saturday, but there was
too much snow along I-75, so we're waiting a few days. It was -15
here in Detroit last night, so we're not missing out on winter, but
I'm ready to head to Munising and start snowshoeing!
