Back before World War I, the Jolly Old Elf upgraded to 20th Century transportation (first card above). Now 106 years later, he's still on the job. This year he got to meet Ellie from Houghton, who just happens to be our youngest granddaughter. She apparently would prefer to be held by someone less hairy. Priceless expressions on both faces.
Our pasty elves just concluded a challenging week in Calumet. Hope all who ordered pasties for Christmas received them on time and in good condition. It was one of our biggest weeks ever, with the proceeds this year directed to the Beacon House in Marquette. Thanks to everyone for your support of this project through the years, which started as a fund raiser for care of the elderly in the U.P., and expanded to include young and old alike along the way.
LOVE IT!!! Ellie is so cute! I have a feeling most children reacted that way the first time they met Santa!;>

We really feel for Ellie's "angst"...but this is an award winning picture!

This picture is a classic! Santa looks like he's had a full day of unintentionally scaring kids!

I love the first picture above. It's like Christmas cards had more of a spiritual feel back then. Our youngest grandchild is only 3-1/2 months, so he'll be approximately your beautiful granddaughter's age next Christmas. Thanks for posting, Charlie.
Have a wonderful and peaceful Holiday Season, everyone!

This will be a family picture that'll be discussed for years to come! Very cute little Ellie, even if she is distressed!
We know Beacon House has been your home-away-from-home for several months ~ great choice to support.
Safe travels for all ~ looks like it could get dicey right around Christmas Eve.

Santa: "What am I suppose to do now?" Ellie: "Ma...someday I'll get you for this!"
