What a great capture here today, from Philip Odum. His Snowy Owl photo, with those yellow eyes boring into his own eyes, behind the camera…as much as saying that he better not disturb him perched there on the wire insulator, or else! Such a beautiful bird!

The second photo was sent in by Joanie Sinkler. That's quite a rafter of turkeys at her back yard feeder, something you don't always see snacking on seed there. These birds aren't as pretty as the snowy owl, but interesting just the same. They only have one holiday dinner to survive and then they'll be home free for another 11 months or so. ;-)

I LOVE owls and turkeys, and I agree with your description of owls, Mary ~ the 'attitude' on their faces is what makes them so appealing to me....sort of like "Back Off!".;>

Thanks, Philip and Joanie.

Whooo's on the pole. No, whooo's on first.
How many Watts on that pole? Not sure, but What's on second. :-)
Nice pix!

Two of my favorite large birds for viewing today. Snowy owls are the best looking raptor in my eyes. Wild Turkeys I find fascinating. Not sure why.

Beautiful birds the Snowy Owls! I'm betting that if you're seeing that many Philip, there is a lemming crash in the Arctic this year which is driving more Owls south.

Magnificent shot of the Owl! That is a beauty of a
bird! I had turkeys out back, one morn last
week...and it was the first time I've seen them at my
feeders! BIG birds!!

I love snowy owls. They're so beautiful!! We have
turkeys like that around here, too. They're fun to
watch. We also have some deer eating our pumpkins
outside. Wildlife is the best!
