Mary Drew at Pasty Central (Mdrew) on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 - 11:46 pm:

We've arrived at the end of December, along with the end of the year 2013. In our long-standing tradition of remembering those that have passed on before us, we recall the following friends and loved ones:

Brian Fredianelli
Florence Heide
Addelyn Sue Olli
Lil Pihlaja
Karen Rheault
Margaret "Maggie" Schmitz
Alice Smith
Eugene "Zube" Zuvernik
Servicemen and women who have given their all

Some of you may recognize "Zube" in the list of names, as he's been a long time Pasty Cam visitor and sometime poster here on these pages. We wish to extend our deepest sympathy to all who have lost someone near and dear to them.

As always, please feel free to add the names of those that you would like to hold forever in your heart.

Special thanks to Brita Haapala for the wintry sunset to reflect upon today

The picture's not up yet, but I'm remembering my dad this New Year's Eve. Five years ago this month he was taken from us. I will always miss him.

That was close, Happy New Years

By Charlie at Pasty Central (Chopper) on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 - 11:51 pm:

Yes, once again our perfect record of daily updates stays intact. My New Year's resolution is to find a way to publish the daily update by 8am, before the activites of the day press in.

Happy New Year to all and to all a good night.

By Mary Drew at Pasty Central (Mdrew) on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 - 12:36 am:

This photo was sent to me after the notes and photo for today were already sent to the server for Charlie to upload to the webpage, along with the following note from Cindy Pihlaja Russell (gone2long):
My stepmom of almost 30 years, Lil Pihlaja, died Monday morning at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility. She lived in Mass City.
My sister took this picture Monday afternoon around 3:00. She said it's a sign that Lil made it to Heaven. If you could put this on Pasty for me I would appreciate it.

In Memory of Lil

In memory of my 83 year old father David Long who passed away on December 12th 2013 with his family at his side. He was born on a farm near Redridge as was his mother before him. He battled cancer with Sisu for a year and a
half until he decided that he had won. Although he lived downstate, he was always a Yooper at heart, visiting often. It was only appropriate that his graveside service was held in a snowstorm.

Beautiful photos, Brita and Cindy.
Sincere condolences to all who've lost loved ones. Really will miss Zube's posts!
Going into a new year once again without my best friend and true love, Frank, is sad but Thank You, GOD for all those wonderful years You gave us!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 - 09:52 am:

I'm glad that Cindy got this picture and message to you because I was trying to figure a way to do it for her as she sent me a text with the message and picture. Sending her my condolences today. It's so very hard to lose those we love. Sympathy to everybody who has lost one.

Shirley, been thinking a lot about Zube also, and missing his e-mails. He was such a good man. My heart is breaking for his wife as she's having such a difficult time facing the New Year without him.

By D. A. (Midwested) on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 - 06:11 pm:

It's been exactly 8 months since I lost my wife,
Kellie all too soon at the young age of 63. I
thought about cancelling Christmas this year but I
couldn't get anyone to go along. It has been
difficult, especially for our son.

Sanaz Nezami, whose death saved seven (7) other lives.

Also. Bless the nurses who helped the family thousands miles away, see their loved one pass away.

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Friday, January 3, 2014 - 12:31 pm:

Yes Mickill, bless them all and the Episcopalian priest who said
prayers for her.

By D. A. (Midwested) on Friday, January 3, 2014 - 05:32 pm:

I was so sad reading about Sanaz.

My wife was granted her last 17 years of life
because of organ donation. A young man from Iowa
lived on, beyond his Earthly mortality through the
gift he and his family made.

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Friday, January 3, 2014 - 06:30 pm:

KOSK; Thank You for saying that.;O)

Her story has been on soooo many news sites and even on t.v. news channels.
