Sue Uren sent me today's photos taken after one of our recent snow events, when it had let up and was time to dig her way out. You can see why a snow blower is a necessity here in the Keweenaw, as that would be a lot of snow to be moving by hand with a Yooper Scooper or a shovel.

Sue said that after they caught up with the snow removal that day, they took a ride out to McLain Park and the Canal area to snap a few more snowy shots. Even all snowed in, that little cabin in the woods looks pretty inviting.

Sue's last shot was taken in front of Portage Health almost two weeks ago, so I'm sure there is much more snow around there by now, but I thought it was worth sharing still, since it shows what us Yoopers sometimes have to resort to for our mode of daily transportation when the snow keeps coming for days on end. Snowmobiles aren't just for pleasure rides around here, they're also a good way to get around when the snow is out of control!

P.S. Happy First Day of Winter…even though we've been in the midst of it for quite some time here in the Keweenaw! :-)

Now THAT'S a lot of snow!!! Great pictures and I'm getting anxious to be surrounded by all of that white stuff. Thanks for keeping us all updated on the amount of snowfall UP there!

We just got home from a neighborhood Christmas party. Boy was it
ever icy. I regaled the Torontonians with tales of Christmases past.
They were impressed. Then we skidded home down the street.
Very icy conditions tonight.

After last night we are snowmobiling and digging out in that order. Lovin' It!!

Trying to dry out this morning ~ had rain all day yesterday, rain/wind last night, but thankfully no "S" word in my area.;>

Digging out wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact that it's almost an everyday thing!
