I don't have a snow total in inches for you here today, but I can tell you that it's been snowing and snowing and snowing some more here in the Keweenaw. It is one of the snowiest and coldest Decembers that I can remember in awhile.
So you can see some of our snow-cover, Judy Byykkonen snapped a couple photos the other day, of her "favorite Christmas tree", which looks to be a crabapple. I'm sure the birds around her place claim it as their favorite, too, since it has plenty of red crabapples at the ready for snacking any time they want.
Judy's first two photos were taken on Saturday, when the weather was a bit blustery, too. You can see the tree is pretty well covered with snow already. Then she snapped the bottom photo on Sunday morning, with even more snow covering the crabapples and branches. I'm not sure what that glow in the photo is coming from, though. Some people claim it is the sun peeking through the snow clouds. It could be, but it's been so long since we've seen it here UP North that I'm just not quite sure!

I'm not sure, but I wonder if my nephew & his family visiting from TX for this month have anything to do with the heavy snowfall we've been experiencing!

In addition to the glow I see some blue things. Doesn't look like they're birds. What am I seeing. Anyone else notice them?

Beautiful pictures, Judy! And the shadows in the last one prove that there really is a sun in the UP! lol Rowdy, I think those blue things are snow patches caught in the branches of the evergreen in the background. And Capt Paul, I hope all is safe with you and Dr Nat - ice is no fun.
