The winds have been howling along the shores of Lake Superior and that means only one thing…HUGE waves and roaring water. Thanks to Mike Schneider, who was out on the rocks in the Marquette area, we get a first-hand look at the wave action taking place with those winds whipping the Big Lake around.
You can almost hear the waves crashing and feel the water spraying with these photos, making you back away from the screen so you don't get wet. Lake Superior is looking pretty dark and sinister, too, especially in Mike's second photo, where that curling wave looks like it's going to crash right in and swallow you.
Take a closer look at the third photo, through the splashing wave and you'll spot the Presque Isle Breakwall, with the light in the distance. I'm betting Mike felt more than a little of that spray!
And just in case these pictures weren't quite enough for you, Mike also made a video of the wave action from the Black Rocks out on Presque Isle. If you'd like to take a look at that, just click on the following link, then click on the white arrow to start the video. (VOLUME ALERT: The waves created quite a loud ruckus, so you may want to adjust your speaker volume before you watch the video): Lake Superior all worked up!
