Joanne Belhart snapped a photo of her son getting ready to rake some leaves…but wait, he also has a snow scoop in hand. I'm not sure if he was going the scoop the leaves or if he was just getting prepared for the inevitable snowfall that will be coming before you know it here UP North. Maybe it was a little of both, but if you look close, he's sporting a Stormy Kromer, so he's ready for anything the weather decides to throw at us.
The second photo is Joanne's great granddaughter, who, like her uncle in the first photo, is also ready for the colder weather, sporting a kid size version of the Stormy Kromer, too. With November upon us, it's time to start preparing for the wintery weather like these two have here today

Everybody heads to Copper World in Calumet for their Stormy Kromers! They are the best hats! I love the pics but going from scooping leaves to scooping snow in such a short time--shakes me up a bit!

I have never seen a Stormy Kromer on anyone that young. It sure looks cute. Gives an idea for Christmas presents for my grandchildren. Along with some toys and books, of course.

I've been tempted more than once to buy a stormy kromer for my grandchildren for Christmas. Copper World has them year round, I believe! That little girl looks adorable in it.

Aww, what a precious little lady ~ love those eyes!! We always preferred to 'chop and blow' the leaves with our lawn tractors....too many trees to 'scoop or rake'.

Love the fashion statement made by Joanne's grand daughter with her Stormy Kromer...Vogue!

George, that's not a good question to ask 'Yoopers'.;> Stormy Kromers are very special UP there.

I've always thought of leaf droppings as tree poop, too. That is one style'n little sweetie, she would make a good ad.

Oh I get it, untie the bow and the flaps cover your ears. Gotta hand it to those Yoopers.

I got my Stormy Kromer at Copper World. Then I saw them at My local hardware store in SE MI.

George: You don't untie the bow. You pull the strap material down at the sides so it covers your ears.

You have to give George a hand.

I use a poly tarp for gathering and transporting leaves. You can really load up the leaves on the incredibly lightweight tarp and just pull them by hand to wherever you're disposing of them. It works nicely.
The Stormy Kromer reminds me of the head gear worn by bomber crewmembers during World War II, except that those had a wooly inner lining....probably kept them toasty warm.
