When Jeremy Rowe heard the Northern Lights would be out dancing in the Keweenaw sky, he decided to head to the shores of Lake Superior to join in on the dancing and snap some photos to share.
For the first photo, it looks like Jeremy stopped off at the lookout over Copper Harbor. I love how the lights from town are so bright and shining like gold, while the Aurora Borealis lights make designs in the night sky. Beautiful.
When Jeremy captured the lights near Eagle Harbor, they were as bright as can be and capped off with a rich red across the top. Outstanding.
The last two Aurora shots from Jeremy were snapped at Esrey Park and Cedar Bay. When these lights are dancing across the night sky like this, it always amazes me how they are ever changing and display a natural beauty that can't be duplicated.
Thanks to Jeremy for capturing the Keweenaw night sky at its finest.

Wow! First to post! That's what happens when Mary posts in the middle of the "Bermuda triangle" period. (That period of time where all posts get lost in the shuffle and are rarely seen). So like the Northern Lights making their appearance I'm taking this rare opportunity to make a comment that might actually be seen. Excellent shots! I was always enjoyed the Northern Lights. the crazy thing for me was that I never got to see them in the multiple colors. They only appeared white. It was still cool but disappointing when I see the beauty of the colors now. It also makes me wonder why they were white. If someone of more intelligence in this matter does see this post maybe they can help out with more info.

Two trips to the UP this past summer and unfortunately I missed everything. FYI, solar flares and CMEs are on the up swing this past week and increasing.

I've seen the Northern Lights in white, green, and crimson--only one color at a time.

There is a trick here...digital cameras "see" the Northern Lights a lot better than our eyes do...especially with even a short time exsposer.

I've only seen them in white. It was in southwestern lower MI and we didn't know what they were. Learned a lot since that time. The pictures of them are beautiful.

One of the many perks of living in the UP vs. just visiting.
Excellent pictures.
