On this day in which year did the Pasty Cam feature snow on the ground at the Ishpeming DNR field office?

2002, although, technically, it is the SIGN for the DNR office. Who knows, maybe over at the office it was sunny and 60 degrees! You know how UP weather is!

Good Morning everyone. It is chilly here in mid-Michigan, 28 degrees, which is our coldest here in mid-Michigan so far this fall. Keep warm! Great pictures today. My favorite is the freighter going under the Lift Bridge, but there are some awesome fall color pictures, especially 2004, 2001, and 2000, and I always love Joyce Tormala's dog pictures! George's partridges photo somehow made me think of the Secret Service or FBI or whatever, talking into his bended elbow. :-) Happy Friday you all!

Whoa...I wasn't ready for that, Charlie :-0

Omgosh, what beautiful photos today. It's very hard to pick a favorite in this slideshow, but Nature's Canopy is simply gorgeous! And I love the lone tree overlooking Superior. It reminds me of what we used to call "the old lonesome pine" out on Bootjack road. I think it was on the turnoff to Mud Lake, but I'm not sure about that. The autumn leaves, freighter, 2 bridges, the Northern Lights, Joyce's pet....all spectacular!

Thanks so much for this beautiful start to the day and have a great Friday, everybody!

That did it. I'm really homesick. It's like the lyrics to the "Sound of
Music." These really are "a few of my favorite things."

Yay!!! I love the return to the question of the day. I'm posting 12+ hours late but I'm still glad to see it. Have a great weekend everyone.

Here's a bit of info for all of you Yoopers out there;

Did you know that the Ontonagon River is Upper Michigan's largest river system?

It flows into Lake Superior after a downhill ride on 1.300 miles of streams in five counties in two states.

Almost any trip in the western UP crosses at least one branch: Main, East, West, Middle, South and Cisco.

It is a beautiful river.

Thanks for the information about the Ontonagon River. I didn't
know that, Waveaction.

Sounds like that river meanders all over the place.
