When Deb and Ron Simons were here in the UP two weekends ago, one of their color tour excursions was to the top of Mount Bohemia on the chair lift tour. It is one of those things still on my "to do list", so I'm thrilled to be able to take a virtual tour through their photos here today.
It looks like they picked the perfect time to get strapped into the lift chairs and head to the top for the a view that's hard to beat, when it comes to seeing the sea of color that Keweenaw becomes in the fall.
Deb and Ron's photos also give you a great perspective of just how high up you really are when on the top of the mountain there, especially in the shot looking back down at the Yurts and the parking area below them. Quite the height and quite the amazing views.
Thanks for taking us higher in the Keweenaw!

How exciting to open the pasty site and be reminded of what a terrific time we had at the top of Mt. Bohemia. When Chris (Copper World) told us they were doing that this weekend, it was on our to do list immediately. I am NOT a fan of heights, so there were some reservations, but they were gone in a hurry when you got caught up in the beauty of the Keweenaw! We saw SO very much beauty in the 3 days that we were there. We made every spare minute count. I highly recommend this trip up the mountain in the fall. It will not disappoint! Between that, the covered road, the beauty of Freda and Lake Superior up there, and the view we saw of Traprock Valley from the cemetery, it was a trip to remember.
Thank you Mary and Charlie for sharing this with all of our pasty friends!

Great fall pictures, Deb and Ron. It is gorgeous - the hillside looks like it is on fire! Thank you for pointing out the Yurts, Mary. They looked like silos or something to me; I guess there is too much farm girl left in me, lol. I had heard of the Yurts, but I have never seen them. Thank you, Deb, Ron, and Mary for today's beauty.

Very nice photos, looks like the weather was perfect as well, thanks for the tour.
More than once, my friend Marty has wanted to drive up the ski trail in the 4x4... I told him he should try it and I'll wait at the bottom and watch him! lol
Once again I guessed whose pix these were before I saw your names, Deb and Ron. They're absolutely beautiful shots! Thanks Deb, Ron, and Mary, for sharing.:)
