As bow season gets underway this fall, we are reminded of an occurrence back in 1969 that was reported on Michigan Outdoors, which makes a good Shoebox Memory. Any of our Southeast Michigan Pasty Cammers remember Mort Neff? He was on the air from 1951 in the Detroit television market to 1974 , when his young assistant Fred Trost took over as host. The guys would often make a trek to the U.P., covering stories of every-day folks who would bag the biggest moose or catch the longest fish. It's the incredible tale of wild macaroni... which they say goes great with grilled snipe.
On 28 on the way to Marquette there is a sign that says Trost and I always wondered if that was Fred's place.

Growing up, Thursday night wasn't complete without watching Mort Neff!
Do recall seeing this video before; not sure if it was when it was 1st broadcast or not.
