Sally Beaudette was on her way into town on the Bootjack Road, when she spotted this rainbow over Lake Linden, so she pulled over and quickly snapped a shot to capture the moment. That's my hometown and since legend has it that there's a Pot of Gold at the end of the rainbow, I'm guessing that must mean that Lake Linden is that treasure. :->

Today's second shot has nothing to do with rainbows and is not even remotely connected to the first photo. It's just a neat close-up of a grasshopper that Joy Ziemnick spotted in her garden. She said there has actually been quite a few of these little insects around this summer. I wonder if that's a sign of anything?

I thought I recognized that Hopper :-)

Pretty view, Sally! And thank you, Joy, for the close-up. The first summer we lived in ND, there was an over-abundance of those critters ~ every time we drove anywhere our windshield would get covered. What a mess!:<

I can still remember how mortified I was a kid when an old neighbor told me grasshoppers spit chewing tobacco. I'm waiting for the Woolie caterpillars to come out with their winter predictions.

Just went on Facebook to wish Fran-in Ga birthday wishes and was shocked to find she has left us! So sorry to hear this, wondered why haven't heard much from her or about her. Surely something about it was on here?--shows how little then I'm here anymore. :( When did this happen? I'm really embarrassed and feeling bad now. Fran & I were in 4th or 5th grade together in Dollar Bay schools.
