I bet you all thought you were going to see 'E. Neil Harri' as today's photographer, but it's not Neil, it's actually Barb Bouwkamp. She was given a lift in the air by Experimental Aircraft pilot, Jeff, during the 'fly-in' event put on by the Houghton Chapter of the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association). Barb said that over 100 folks were flown on various planes, by pilot members of the EAA, who donate their time, plane and even the gas, to put this event on for the community.
Barb was excited to fly in a small plane over the Keweenaw, but even more excited to try out her camera, snapping shots along the way. She started with a group photo of the pilot, Jeff (in the white shirt) and the couple she shared the flight with.
As you can see from the photos, they flew over Hancock, Quincy, Mason, then out over Big Traverse, along with a few other locales. It was a fun day for all!
Happy Labor Day!
