When Joy Ziemnick, newcomer to the Pasty Cam photographer's club contacted me, wanting to know how she can submit photos for consideration as the daily photos, she also mentioned that she lives in a great spot for viewing the changing skies on the western shore of Lake Superior, just north of Calumet Waterworks. Today's photos she submitted sure back up that claim.

Joy said she took these on several different stormy days recently and they illustrate quite well, the angry skies that can form over the Big Lake and then begin to roll in over the land, whipping up big waves, rain and winds along the way. But I have to tell you, even when the weather is rocking and rolling over the Keweenaw, it still has a unique beauty you don't find anywhere else.

Last year we were on top of Brockway MTN and watched
a strong thunderstorm blow on, that was crazy!

Very nice photos. When we lived in Red Jacket, I loved going to Waterworks Park to watch the lake in all its moods, from deep blue serenity to the leaden grey white-capped waves of an angry storm.

Spectacular photos today! I think we "seldom" have perfect weather around here but we are blessed by great beauty and cool breezes ,a safe environment and peace and quiet!

We were a little late with Saturday's Pasty Cam, but again kept our 15+ year record for daily updates. Friday's photos were a nice treat for weekend visitors as they patiently waited for Saturday to advance.
