When the weather gets warm and the kids need cooling off, Michelle Jeffery knows just where to take them. They sure love jumping from the rocks at 10 foot falls near Eagle River and never seem to tire of landing a successful jump in to the pool below. It sure is a pretty spot and looks like you don't have to contend with crowds of people all around you, either. Lastly, it's a nice change of pace from going to the Big Lake to cool off and a bit more of a challenge for the bigger kids, too.
So many places to go, so many things to do, all right here in the Keweenaw.

WOW!! This must not be as dangerous as it looks!
From the camera's point of view it seems like there is very little target area without rocks.

Looks like more fun than a barrel of monkeys, but don't make any mistakes!

My thoughts exactly...pretty gutsy. I hope they won a bet or something.

It's just the point of view of the camera. It's a perfectly safe place to jump and swim, and people have been doing it for years.

We were there the other day and no one was around. It certainly is a beautiful place, especially when there is the amount of water that is flowing now.

Even if I were a diver or swimmer, which I'm not, I wouldn't dream of attempting that.:<

I would love to do that. I would need to see someone do it first for me to trust it. I hear of people swimming in pool areas of a stream and finding leeches or blood suckers which scare me more than jumping off a rock.

I would like to try this myself. Where exactly is this on the river?

10 Foot is most beautiful in the fall! Right along the roadside for those who can't make a longer trek! It's crazy how the falls are running at this time of year.

Uncle Chuck, It is awesome! PLUS if you're lucky you might end up in some out of stater's video clip. Back in the day I don't know how many tomes I would look up and see people taking pictures, gawking at all those "idiots" swimming and jumping on the falls :) Good times for sure!

Okay, now how do I miss that when I go to Eagle River? Been there twice in the last week and haven't seen that. However, it looks too scary to me, but so much fun.
There's a river north of Duluth called the Temperence. Tons of people were doing that last year on Labor Day weekend when we drove up there. And there were dozens of people swimming in Lake Superior, too. Surprised me so late in the year, but it was really hot last year that weekend. But anyway, there weren't dangerous rocks sticking out like there are here. WOW!! Gutsy!
And Mary, truer words were never spoken than your last statement. So much to do and not nearly enough time in this little area. Love it here. And thanks for sharing the fun pictures. I could look at ours over and over again.

That's up to Mary, Zube. She knows where to find them :-)
Mary says: Stay tuned to the Pasty Cam...some of Deb's photos are going to be featured in the coming weeks. So many photos, so few days to feature them all. ;-)

Sonofbrulla---Sorry to hear of Poncho's passing. We weren't close but he was always a fun guy. I knew him when he was an equipment hauler for Thornton Construction. Last job we were on was I-75 between Grayling and Houghton Lake. He worked along side Kevin Roggan. Good guys- but wild.

Sonofbrulla, sorry for your loss :-(
Thanks, Janie. I'm really enjoying looking at our pictures. Nice memories!! Hopefully Mary will choose to share them.
Zube, I sent a link to your e-mail so you can see them :-)
