We get to tag along with Philip Odum today, as he snaps a few lighthouse photos from Whitefish Point, all the way northwest, to Eagle Harbor.
Philip started out at the Crisp Point Lighthouse, which is located 14 miles west of Whitefish Point. This lighthouse was not accessible by car for many years, but improvements on the road leading up to it, have made it so that you can drive right to it now. It is quite the picturesque spot, with a number a great angles for photos, not one of them a bad one.
His next stop was at the Big Bay Lighthouse Bed and Breakfast, which is located in Big Bay, 24 miles northwest of Marquette. It is situated on a rocky point, high over Lake Superior, with great views, so you just might want to make a reservation and stay for a day or two, enjoying the peace and quiet.
Last but not least, Philip stopped in to check out the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse, located right in the town of Eagle Harbor. Here again, there are a number of good photography views of this light and you get the added bonus of several museums on the campus, including a Maritime Museum in the old fog signal building, a Keweenaw History Museum located in the old U. S. Coast Guard Station garage, and Commercial Fishing Museum located in one of the assistant keepers buildings. So there's plenty to see and learn about there, too.
All this lighthouse talk is giving me the bug to get on the road and visit a few myself. Time for a roadtrip!

Thank you for the great lighthouse photos, and thank you for telling us how to get to them! We have been to the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse many, many times, but we haven't seen the other two in person. I am a big fan of lighthouses, waterfalls, and flowing water, etc. Those are great pictures for the end of the week.

I love lighthouses. I have a collection of Great Lakes lighthouses. They're fascinating and I always wonder how people survived the winters living in them. Staying at Sand Hills B & B and Big Bay B & B is definitely on my bucket list!!
THANKS SO MUCH..!!!! FOR POSTING MY PHOTOS FOR EVERYONE TO VIEW...

We finally made it out to the Crisp Point Lighthouse back in 2007. We brought a picnic lunch with us, which we enjoyed on the beach. It was so relaxing, beautiful, and peaceful. My only regret is that it was before I had a digital camera.
