Some great photos this morning!!

Good morning! It's gonna be hot and muggy here today. The weekend was a wash so we got lots done inside. Not exactly how you want it to work during the summer months but oh well!!

I haven't been able to pull pasty up very easily for about a week and a half now. Won't come up at all on Internet Explorer and Firefox is iffy! Don't know what the heck is wrong but hoping somebody figures it out soon.

I've never bothered to ask where you're from in Finland, Jarmo? Dr. Nat and I were in Finland last summer and found it absolutely lovely; reminded us a lot of Upper Michigan in certain areas.

I like your photo as well. If you can't decide on a tie, just wear em' all!! (although Dr. Nat would probably slap me if I tried that....)

Jarmo...I like that photo, too. It reminds me of a '70s album cover by a band called Uriah Heep.

As many of you probably already know, Dr. Nat and I will be in the UP beginning July 22. We have been requested to visit several geologically interesting areas and photograph them for an upcoming book. As I photograph these areas, I will be placing them in our Guest Gallery for review for the group that has requested them; however, I will also be putting them on the Geology Page and adding some commentary as to what you're looking at. I'm hoping this will be a fun little project and it might give us a few ideas for the future.

"Music In The Park" was a great time in Ontonagon last Saturday. Learned something new from the Yoopers. The "ankle biter" flies were really doing a number on us all when we noticed people with their feet in paper grocery bags. Asked one old Yooper what was with that? He replied, "The flies don't bite or try to get in the bags". Tried it and it worked. :) Another use for paper in "Lumberland". :)

Hot here too, tomorrow is going to be the warmest, temps inland hitting 100°. Heard on the Jan Tucker show that on Isle Royale it was a high of 48° yesterday.

I am so grateful for Pasty Cam! I can't be in the UP because the
trip from here(Florida Keys) to there is hard at our age I look
forward to this site every morning . I just want you to
know,Charlie, that I appreciate everything you and Mary and all the
rest do to bring the UP to us each day.
