There has been a creature hiding out under Robert C. Wetton's dock out in the Bootjack area and it's keeping his Grandkids up on dry land, since they're afraid it will bite them. In case you can't tell, that's a snapper in the water and I don't blame the kids one bit. I don't think I'd want to take a chance that it might find my toes just right for lunch, either.
Bob (RCW), said they were trying to capture it, so they could relocate it to a place where it wouldn't be scaring all the little ones. I'm not sure whether they were successful in catching it, or if perhaps it decided to move on, all on it's own. Perhaps RCW will join us and fill in the "rest of the story".
In the last photo, Bob's son Scott and dog, Daisy enjoy a jet ski ride together. They had no worry about that snapping turtle, since they were going faster than the snapper can swim. I wonder if Daisy was thinking...catch me if you can! :->

Those are scary pix. I hope I don't have nightmares of snapping turtles snapping at my privates.

Glad he/she moved on, Robert! Our son-in-law was fishing in our pond one time and a BIG turtle grabbed his bait, breaking the line. It bothered me because all I could think about was that poor turtle with a barb stuck in its mouth! :<
