In case you can't tell, I'm quite fond of the beauty of flowers in bloom and just couldn't resist sharing these colors with you all, here today.

Melanie Hakala Rossi seems to share my enthusiasm for the colors that bloom this time of year, as she was out snapping these photos around Dollar Bay. She sure has an "eye" for capturing the beauty and the vivid colors of the blooms, making them seem like you could just reach out to touch and smell them, right on your screen.

This would be a good time to remind you all, as summer vacation begins for many kids this week... take time to stop and smell the flowers!

These are beautiful. Thanks for the happy morning pics.

Terrific pictures! What an array of colors and I can just smell them, too!

Thanks for sharing!

Very nice colorful, clear photos! The detail is excellent
2-Bee, or not 2-Bee...I can only see 1.

Sometimes when I'm sitting on my patio, I'm overwhelemed with the fragrance of all the flowering bushes and flowers. Oh to be able to bottle it up for a really crumbly winter day. Guess I'll just remember to come back to Melanie's photos and make do. Thank you both.

Ah how beautiful are flowers. Another one of God's great gifts!
Thank you, Melanie, for sharing these.

Let us all take a moment to reflect on what transpired 69 years ago today. Those of us who can enjoy the pitures of the flowers posted today owe an unfathomable debt to the boys who gave the last full measure on the beach-heads in France, D-Day, 6th of June,1944.

The flower pics are so beautiful. I wonder how people can get such amazing closeups. Mine are never as good as these. I so enjoyed them all!

D-Day.....a moment to say thank you for your ultimate sacrifice..........

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Thursday, June 6, 2013 - 10:54 am:

KAY; I wonder if you put a bunch of the flowers in a jar, put a lid on them, would they still smell the same when you open the jar at another time? ;O)

That sounds like a project for kids to try.

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Thursday, June 6, 2013 - 10:58 am:

very colorful pictures to look at on such a gloomy day...Thank You.

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Thursday, June 6, 2013 - 11:24 am:

looks like the bumble bee is giving the flower a hug, if you will, while pollinating....;O)LOL...

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Thursday, June 6, 2013 - 01:18 pm:

Amen, tom and FJL!

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Thursday, June 6, 2013 - 02:24 pm:

Hi. I love the flower photos! I could be mistaken, but I was always told that the ones in the second picture were either pansies or johnny-jump-ups.

I should add that pansies were one of my Mom's favorite flowers. She loved her pansies in the beds, especially for cooler weather.

By Thomas Baird (Thomas) on Thursday, June 6, 2013 - 03:20 pm:

All these photos together are colorful!

By kay Moore (Mskatie) on Thursday, June 6, 2013 - 08:04 pm:

Marianne I tend to agree with you on that. I think violets are a more simple face. I love them all as they are a sure sign of spring. Signs of peace and hope.

What a nice color match with the bee and the Lily. Looks like a very particular bee. :o)
