More severe thunderstorm watches and warnings for Linn County Iowa today for the forth day in a row!

Good morning!! It's a little different here today. We still have the clouds, but it's supposed to be hot and humid, which means storms of some kind. God forbid we have an actual nice day, lol!

Would have been my dad's 86th b'day today. He was always so proud that he was born on the traditional Memorial Day and so mad when they changed it to the last Monday in May. Anyway, Happy Birthday in heaven, dad. We still miss you :-(

I need a U.P. fix! I think it's time to get the steelbelts hummin on the asphalt! Marquette bound and I don't slow down for dead raccoons or jogger's! Maybe early June, lol... I think MGH needs more dialysis chairs & wheelchairs! and... Tim and Joe at Aspirus Keweenaw need an afternoon of golf up at the lodge! Gonna have to get this plan in motion!

Our flooding is getting more intense. The Cedar River has totally flooded out our lower field and is about 35 ft. from coming into my pasture for my horses. Rain, rain, please go away!

Hang in there Janie! Hopefully the flood waters recede and things get back to normal. We're going to be coming through Iowa in July on our way to the UP. Hopefully this rainy weather passes pretty soon....

Capt, will you be going through Iowa on I-35 North? Right now the Cedar is at 15 1/2 ft. flood stage is at 13 ft. Suppose to crest Saturday at 20 ft. We have 53 in. tall fences, no longer can see them. Probably won't dry up, just freeze over this winter! lol!

We were planning on running 35 north through Iowa as we have 3 days to make it to the UP in a trip that normally takes us a day and 2/3 so we can take our time.

Well Janie think of it this way; if it did all freeze this winter you could open the World's largest pond hockey rink!!!

Sitting at the Super 8 in Houghton watching it rain. 10 hour drive today from Kalamazoo but it's good to be back UP here. Now we can relax a little.
