We head over to the Western end of the U.P. today, with newcomer to the Pasty Cam, Larry Stauffer. He told me that, along with his wife, they do a lot of "falls hunting" and of course snap photos of their finds. We're glad they decided to share some of their adventures with us, beginning with the O Kun de Kun Falls, located in Ontonagon County, north of Bruce Crossing. Larry's first two photos are the main falls, with the third shot of the upper falls. For more information about these waterfalls and how to get there, click on this link: O Kun de Kun info.

Larry's last photo is Superior Falls, which is located on the Montreal River that borders Michigan and Wisconsin, northwest of Ironwood, MI and Hurley, WI. It is only a short distance from Lake Superior, also. Again, for more info and directions to find these falls, click on the following link: More about Superior Falls.

Thanks for sharing your "finds" with us here today, Larry!

There are great! I've never even heard of these. Welcome to Larry and thanks for sharing your finds!

With all that snow UP there this winter, I guess there's bound to be lots of water now.
Thank you, Larry & Mary.

That's because you travel the wrong roads to Houghton Deb! :P

Yes, Welcome Larry!! I have been to O Kun de Kun once but years ago. Never been to Superior so I may have to add that to the "UP bucket list"....

Falls hunting...definitely time well spent.

Welcome to Pasty Larry! And wonderful waterfall pictures!

By Koke (Koka) on Thursday, May 23, 2013 - 11:32 am:

I don't know where these falls are but they are beautiful. Charlie you should setup a page where we can look at a clickable map of the UP showing where these falls and other attractions are located so we can plan our trips accordingly. It would be nice to visit these places when we travel "home" to our beloved "Copper Country" and surrounding areas.

Mary says: Koke (Koka), if you click on the links I provided for each of the falls shown here today, there are directions on how to get to each of them. Also, if you go to Google Maps and type in the name of the falls, with Michigan or in the case of Superior Falls, type in Wisconsin, since it's on the border of both states, it will show you on the map, where they are, too. Hope this helps! :->

It seems appropriate to share this very recent short
film of a Keweenaw water fall tour.

The U.P. is so blessed to have so many waterfalls. The L.P. only has 1 or 2.

Thanks D.A....excellent video!
