For those of you that have been there before, you'll recognize this distinctive "road hazard" immediately, as the tree in the middle of the Eagle Harbor Marina road. Bob Williams sent the first two shots and said that every time he visits Keweenaw County, he has to take a drive to the marina, just to see the tree. He figures this could only be left alone like this, in the Keweenaw, since anywhere else it would be considered a danger to traffic and would be uprooted to pave over. Not here in Eagle Harbor, though, instead, it's a bit of an attraction for folks to drive around and snap photos of. Pretty unique, you have to admit.

The third shot comes from E. Neil Harri, of his four-legged friend, Kaisa. They were taking a walk on the Eagle Harbor ski/hiking trails, checking out the last of the snow for the season there. Neil said that little bit of snow still there, is good for cooling off the dog after a run on the trails. Hopefully the weather warms up enough now, to melt that remaining bit of snow, quickly. Welcome spring!

Been there many times. Never thought to take a picture of it for some reason, though. Always too interested in getting great shots of the lake, lighthouse, and the foliage, especially in the fall.

Not knowing where Paul and Dr. Nat live in Texas, I hope they are O.K. as well as everybody else.

There are trees in the middle of the road in California, but you can drive thru 'em.;)

Cool....My first pictures on the Pasty Cam! The marina area is one of my favorite places. You can look out at the lake on one side, look at Mt Baldy on the other side and in the middle you can look across Eagle Harbor at the Lighthouse. The waves frequently come in from 2 directions and crash together at the spot where you look at the Lighthouse. Also, the lifesaving museum is interesting to go through.

Oh, the tree! We are headed up Sunday and our pups love to walk over by the marina! Opening the cottage! Hearing the lake! Seeing Northern Lights! Can't wait!

Beautiful pic's, and a great looking dog too! We always cruise around the marina as well to take in the sights and make sure the tree is still standing.
