Peter Vorhes is making his first appearance as photographer today, with photos from Swedetown, earlier this week. You'll recognize his wife's name, Liz Siivola, though, as she's contributed photos for us to enjoy a number of times before. That's Liz and Peter themselves, skiing in shorts on the trails...showing what a strange winter/spring it has been here in the Copper Country. I'm not sure if it's a first, but even if it's not, skiing in May, wearing shorts and no jacket, is not something you can brag about having done very often.

Today's last two photos were snapped by Liz, as she was skiing the trails. Bear tracks in the snow. I sure hope this one isn't too hungry, as there really isn't much vegetation out there for them to eat after sleeping all winter. Make sure you keep an eye out for them if you're still on the trails. Hopefully skiers don't appeal to them as dinner fare.

Wow! It's hard to believe that people can ski in May. This winter will surely be remembered. Looking at that last photo . . . could it be Big Foot??? Thanks for sharing your photos, Liz and Peter.

With the heavy spring snow melts and th epics of the various dams and waterfalls, anyone make it out to Redridge ??

There is a youtube video taken at Redridge. I always wonder how concerned I should be about Bears if I visit in late spring.

The photos ARE very nice....but being able to cross country ski in May is not so nice.lolol
