E. Neil Harri gives us all a "bird's eye view" of an Eagle's nest in the Lake Gogebic area. But not just any old eagle's nest, no siree, he found one with a chick being fed dinner to share with us. Pretty amazing to get a glimpse of feeding time, where Neil says the main course was "baby food fish". He also commented that the little snow you can see still around the nest in the shot, will keep that fish cold, so it stays fresh longer. Thanks for taking us higher, Neil!

The remaining two eagle photos, come to us from Susan Hooker, who captured an eagle as it was taking off from an ice floe on Portage Canal. She said she could hear a ruckus outside and went to investigate. She spotted this eagle on the ice floe, with the seagulls making all kinds of noise around it and by the time she grabbed her camera and got back outside, this eagle was already taking flight, leaving behind what it had caught and was eating on the ice there. Of course those seagulls swooped in to finish off the dinner the eagle had left behind, as soon as it had flown off, so that eagle provided lunch for itself and others. Nature does its best to take care of its own.

Very cool! My hubby will love these pictures. On every trip UP there he's got his "eagle eyes" (pardon the pun) out there trying to spot every eagle he can. What a majestic bird!!

Thanks for sharing!

What a powerful bird. We never see any eagles
in our area.I watch the web cam from Iowa. They bring fish rabbits and what ever else for the young ones.

Amazing eagle pics today. Those eagle web cams are fun to watch, too. I used to watch one from Sidney, BC, which someone posted here quite a few years ago. :-)

Thank you Neil and Susan, for these beautiful shots of a beautiful bird! The only eagle I ever saw (in the wild) was in Wyoming. I love eagles!:>

Pictures of Eagles are always a treat. We see so many flying over our farm living near the Cedar River and it's backwaters they are plentiful. Never tire seeing them!
