Lindsay White and family were in Eagle River a few days ago and snapped a shot of the Falls with water flowing amongst the snow and ice buildup there. Another sure sign that spring is just around the corner here in the Copper Country.... HOORAY! Before you know it, these falls will be gushing water full force and present an amazing spectacle with the run-off from the melting snow.

Lindsay also stopped at the roadside park there, so the kids could try their hand at feeding the deer. She said the deer never did take the food right out of the kids hands, but came so very close. Lindsay's daughter had the patience to stand there real still, but her brother was fidgety, so that spooked the deer each time it got close to grabbing that stalk of celery out of her hand.

What a great experience for these kids, to be so close to nature and learn to help care for them, too. It's a win-win situation for both the kids and the deer. Good job, Mom and Dad!

Oh wow!! We were gonna try to get up there when we were there a last weekend, but just didn't have the time. I can't remember the last time I saw those falls with snow. Great pictures!

When I've thrown scrap out for the deer, they like their celery chopped in little pieces, cause they don't like the long "stringy things"...LOL...If I pitched a long piece, it was there in the morning, and if I chopped it, it was gone. They don't like tomatoes either. :D LOVE corn, cabbage, birdseed, woodpecker suet...etc!
