Deb and Ron Simons were here in the Keweenaw for all the late season snow we've been receiving. They we're impressed with the snow removal going on in the Pat's Foods/Shopko parking lot, in Calumet. No more snow plowing with the wet, heavy accumulations, instead they pull out the big equipment to move all that snow around.

Deb said what really struck them as kind of funny, was seeing the huge piles of snow, right along side the Shopko Garden Center building. It's hard to believe that gardening season is near, with all that snow still on the ground. It's going to be a while before any planting can be done here UP North.

Like so many days this 'spring', we awoke to a fresh coat of white this morning:

Edie and I were probably in this Calumet parking lot at the very time these shots were taken. We laughed about seeing the gardening supplies being set up, after such a dumping of snow overnight.

So often in recent years Edie will say, "You should get a Pasty Cam shot", and I say, "Somebody will". Sure enough :o)

Huge piles of snow indeed! Will those snow piles be still there for your next visit back to the U.P.? Hope not!

Oh wow! I didn't know my pictures were gonna be on here. We laughed so hard as we rounded the turn into the parking lot to see the greenhouse and potted plants fixings, only to see the front end loader trying to move the snow around to make room for more spring gardening stuff. It gave us quite the chuckle. We had to get a picture of that snowband to show everybody out here just how much it really piles up UP there. I don't think anybody truly believed us. Well, they do now, lol!

What a winter! If you look at the satellite imagery, everything up north is still very white. It was even snowing on us here in West Michigan this morning!
