Good Monday morning!!
Put a "3" in from of that .99 these days and you'd be a lot closer....

By wilson (Wilson) on Monday, March 18, 2013 - 08:08 am:

i remember working at the gas station when it hit
.50 cents a gallon, people would yell at me like it
was my fault, and swear they were going to quit
buying gas.
....i also remember my grandfather telling me that
at his gas station, he sold gas for 11 gallons for a
dollar!

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Monday, March 18, 2013 - 08:32 am:

I remember those days well, Wilson. Matter of fact I remember the price being less than .25 cents a gal. The first time we saw it at 1.00 per gal was in Ontario in the 1970s. Our jaws dropped!:(
This weather!...woke up to snow yesterday morning, woke up to a thunderstorm this morning. Think I'd rather have the snow.

By James Ludos (Homesick) on Monday, March 18, 2013 - 10:46 am:

99.9

There was no regular gas in 1999. Just unleaded, ultra and premium.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Monday, March 18, 2013 - 02:48 pm:

Wikipedia shows the U.S. National average price of a gallon of regular gas in 1999, was $1.17. Boy! how times have changed! When I was out today I noticed that the price was $3.67.9.

More snow coming to the UP. Spring should be here around April. :)

That doesn't seem so long ago until you realize that was over half-a-century.:-]

By Les Henriksen (Lesh) on Monday, March 18, 2013 - 09:36 pm:

When I left home to go to the driving range here in F.W., IN, gas was $3.66; on my way home 2 hours later, it was $3.97! Saved almost 5 bucks by filling up yesterday--WOW!

By Ken ja Mimi from da UP (Kenjamimi) on Monday, March 18, 2013 - 10:51 pm:

When we were in Escanaba this afternoon the Holiday station had a gallon for $3.89. Holy
Wah!! Why??? Because of a refinery down?

Great slideshow again today. On Sunday we were watching a program about the North Shore of Minnesota on PBS. A lot of it looked just like the 2010 and 2009 pictures! Beautiful winter scenes today!
