Emma Stout was up with the birds recently and snapping pictures bright and early, too. When she sent today's photos to me, she also sent along these comments: "It's a frosty morning here in Dollar Bay, as we watch the sun rise above the horizon, the tree's frost is sparkling in the sun!"

Indeed it is, Emma! Her first shot, with the sun illuminating the frost covered limbs, looks just like those trees are standing there raising their branches high in the air, to greet the morning sun. They probably knew that it wouldn't be long before that golden glow would heat them up enough to melt off that frosty coating. What a beautiful way, to start the day!

Beautiful pictures. They remind me of the pictures we took after our big snow storm. We have gorgeous pictures of our yard looking just like that, and with the sun coming up over the frosty trees. Absolutely breathtaking!
