Good morning, everyone! What a wonderful slideshow this morning; I love that sunny, late winter/early spring feeling in so many of the photos.

Be safe out there today if you're in the path of the latest winter weather.

Issued by The National Weather Service
Marquette, MI

Mon, Feb 25, 2013, 12:15 PMEST

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MARQUETTE HAS ISSUED A * FLOOD WATCH FOR THE BEARD RIVER NEAR BEARD RIVER * FROM WEDNESDAY MORNING TO THURSDAY EVENING. * MSG FLOODING IS POSSIBLE. * FLOOD STAGE IS 8.5 FEET. * FORECAST... FLOOD STAGE MAY BE REACHED BY ."

1. Oddly enough, no such "River Flood Watch" appears on the Marquette, MI NWS web site, nor on any other weather service that I have checked.

2. Where in or near Houghton County is there a "Beard River" that this might refer to? I am unaware of any such river. (Or am I losing my marbles? <weak grin> )

Doesn't the Beard River flow out of Chin Lake? I've heard there is great fishing near the mouth as well......

Good Morning. Nice pictures this morning. I especially love the snowy Mackinac Straits/Bridge and the snowy log cabins photos.

FR Nash, when I read that flood watch, I was wondering where the Beard River is, too.

I see Cap'n Paul is on a roll this morning! …
(A Sweet Roll from da Hilltop in L'Anse would be nice. Yum!)

Ya had me goin, Capt. I did a Google map search for Chin Lake and came up with more Chins than a Chinese phone book.
