After a very slow start to the snow season, this week the Keweenaw Peninsula resumed its usual wintery conditions, though a little colder than normal. So cold, in fact, that the authorities in Hancock canceled the polar bear dive :o( After the snow stopped falling (and power was restored everywhere) I made the rounds to some of the remote neighborhoods to restore wireless Internet service to our Pasty.NET members.
There are several stretches of highway and back-roads in these parts known as "covered road", but most notably the one heading out to Liminga and the other near Mandan on the way to Copper Harbor, which you've seen in warmer seasons here on the Pasty Cam:
