Robert C. Wetton and his wife, Shirl provide some winter entertainment for themselves, in their own backyard. Shirl is in charge of feeding the critters that visit their Dollar Bay feeding station and sometimes has to put feed out several times a day for the deer that come in. You can see that they're very cautious when they find a new feed container, but once the "all clear" is signaled, they all come in for a turn.

Even a resident rabbit visits daily and gets a carrot put out for him each day. At times though, he's impatient and has to check out whether there's something he can grab from the deer feed.

Whether it's feeding the deer, feeding the rabbits, feeding the birds or any of the critters of the Keweenaw, it's always entertaining to sit and watch them vie for their position at the feed trough.

Aw, what beautiful critters! The deer in the first photo reminds me of my 'picky' kitty...trying to smell what's being offered before he eats.;>

Robert & Shirl's home where the deer and wildlife roam. I noticed that since I bought 2 Dutch bunnies last summer, I now have quite a few wild bunnies too. Word must got out my barn is a new hangout!

Great Pics! LOL Alex, I would feed them too! I would like to feed them around my house here in Commerce, but the neighbors would be mad when they munch on their plants.
RCW-that rabbit needs a plate,lol.

Hey Uncle Chuck, don't give her any ideas she might do it LOL. One problem she's having is late at night when the deer eat their daily dose they sneak over and lick all the bird seed out of her hanging bird feeder. :>)
