This week we'll be wrapping up the entries for the "Toast to 2012" project and will then determine the grand prize winner of a bag of delicious Trenary Toast. On with the show... today's entries for the contest, come from two different photographers. The first two photos were sent in by David Walls, who said he snapped them on his way UP North for hunting season in November. The first shot is a rest stop along M28, between Munising and Marquette. I don't know if the shoreline is filling up with ice by now, but that day in November, the waves were still rolling in with white caps.

David's second photo was taken in the woods, south of Kenton, in Houghton County. Looks like there was a nice covering of snow there, to help the hunters see the deer a little more clearly. With scenes like this, no wonder folks head out into the woods during the hunting season. I wouldn't even care if I saw a deer, when there are such peaceful scenes as this to enjoy.

The third photo was sent in by Jeffrey Cerget, who said he took it out at Keystone Bay, near the tip of the Keweenaw. It was taken during a snowier winter than we're having at the moment and oh my, what a beautiful scene it creates for us to enjoy.

Scenic.

I recognized the shoreline in the first photo even before reading the caption. Beautiful stretch to drive! On my trips to the UP from downstate, when I finally am able to see Lake Superior, I know my destination is within reach. :-)
