New Years Day-WhatsUP January 2 - 08:39 pm

The deadline for sending in photos in the hopes of winning a FREE bag of Trenary Toast is in the past - now that 2013 has begun - but we had enough photos sent for the competition, that we're still featuring them into this new year, too.

Today we have two pictures from Deb Simons, that she actually took near her home in Minnesota, but since she's a former Yooper (once a Yooper, always a Yooper, right?), she submitted them because the frosted trees reminded her of the days growing up in the U.P., when the trees would look like this on her walk to school in the morning, not to mention the brilliant blue sky adding to the beauty of the scene. Look at these shots long enough and you'll begin to feel the cold crisp air. Then you'll need to put your mittens and tuque (chook) on!

Happy New Year, everybody!! Our trees look like that because the temp is about 14 below zero. Oh yeah! Gotta love it!! I am hopefully going NOWHERE today! My poor hubby has to go off to work to his part time job and will probably miss the Michigan game :-( Poor guy!

I hope you all have a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. (And my 13 not be an unlucky number, lol.)

Did we fall off the fiscal cliff? I haven't heard!! Perhaps I should turn the telly on :-)

Happy New Year from Clearwater Florida, we enjoy this site very much, check it daily. We enjoy the photos sent in, the variety of birds, deer, other creatures and the older photo prints of the UP. I especially like to track the vessels from all over the world. This is one nice site well managed and put together. This was our first year ordering pasties for my brother for Christmas, he will be eating some today. Again Happy New Year to all. Joe and Sue...
