Good morning from a snowy MN. Light, fluffy flakes falling down. Beautiful!

I see no question!

Beautiful pictures today. I love Dan's decorated lighthouse. And that little sleepyhead is so cute, probably waiting for Santa to come!

Congratulations RD and Deb!
Welcome back, Charlie. Good thing you didn't need 'help' this morning....I overslept.;-)
Hope everyone is ready for the BIG DAY tomorrow!

Good Morning and Merry Christmas Eve Day to you all! I love the Christmas photos in today's review.

My parents were married on this day in 1931. They had 54 great years together! I really miss them! (Yes, I was a late and unexpected child, who was loved dearly. Because they were married, as my Mom used to say, "in the bottom of the Depression", they raised me like it was still in the Depression, even I was born a long time after the Depression was over.) I learned how to handle money differently from my friends, being careful to not buy things unnecessarily. The economic lessons that I learned from them have come in handy to my husband and I over the years. It's a shame our federal government didn't learn those same lessons of living within your means, etc!

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Monday, December 24, 2012 - 01:06 pm:

This has turned out to be a very somber day in our house. Our little princess Sika is now in a place of warm sands and catnip fields after a long battle with thyroid and kidney disease. Even though we still have two animals roaming the house, there is a very real emptyness as well. This one especially hurts as we got her in Houghton as a result of a rescue 10 years ago and it's one of the last parts of the Keweenaw I still had to hold on to. Dr. Nat and I will be ok knowing she is in a much better and pain-free place now, probably already reaquinting with her kitty buddies and sharing stories of old over a nice plate of tuna and milk......

By Martha Kirk (Misschiefie) on Monday, December 24, 2012 - 01:16 pm:

So sorry, Dr. Nat and Capt. Paul. This hits homw as my own Chief has also had a thyroid tumor and suffers from kidney problems. Cuddle those other two precious companions.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Monday, December 24, 2012 - 01:17 pm:

Capt, Bob & I are grieving right along with you and Dr. 5 days ago we put our 7 yr. old Scottie, Brody, to sleep. He had Cushings Disease. Brimley is doing his finest keeping us in comfort, but he is doing his share of missing Brody as well. You and the good Dr. are in my thoughts in these difficult days.

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Monday, December 24, 2012 - 01:37 pm:

Condolences, Dr. Nat and Capt. Like I said to JT the other day, you do what has to be done. Caring and responsible pet owners have everything to be proud of with lots of good memories.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Monday, December 24, 2012 - 01:51 pm:

Capt. Paul and Dr. Nat, so very sorry to hear of your loss of Sika, but even though the pain runs deep, it helps to console yourselves knowing that she's no longer suffering. I'll bet she'll enjoy being chased by little Joey and little Brody.:) RIP, sweet Sika.

By Ron Heth (Copperharbor) on Monday, December 24, 2012 - 02:11 pm:

Merry Christmas to Yoopers everywhere from two Iowans in Cedar Falls.

Great pictures. Is anybody treacking Santa? ;O)

By Uncle Chuck (Unclechuck) on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 - 01:16 am:

Capt. & Dr. Nat, Really sorry for your loss, it's been a tough week for Pasty! Keep your head's U.P.!

Just for you, GO HUSKIES! I am hoping they win the GLI's! I might be going with my nephews and my son to watch.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

By Mary Drew at Pasty Central (Mdrew) on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 - 01:28 am:

Capt. Paul and Dr. Nat....So sorry for your loss of Sika and one of the last connections you felt with the U.P., too. Sika isn't suffering anymore, take solace in that and also in the fact that you'll make it back to the U.P. one day again, soon. My thoughts are with you and Dr. Nat.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 - 01:28 pm:

Capt & Dr. Nat, I'm so sorry for the loss of your beloved kitty. Having just suffered that loss in July, I know how you feel. Our cat had a thyroid condition also. We did the most humane thing we could do for him. But it really hurts. We still have our other cat and our dog, but they can't replace our Tippy.

Hope you all had a safe Christmas Eve!
