A little U.P. trivia: The link below is about the history of the cabin our family went to when I was a kid. It was known as Brenda Lodge the years that we vacationed there and was owned by Wm. Perry at the time, who is mentioned in the article. Also note that the Chicago gangster, John Dillinger may have hide out there and other reference material notes that he spent time in the U.P while his partner healed from a gunshot wound.
The lodge used to have a website with photos of the place, but it has been closed down. Anyway, this cabin is my connection with the U.P.

The snow is almost history in Ontonagon. Hate to say this because some will be offended, but, it's global warming. Haven't had a decent snowfall here in 4 years.

No more snow left here in Cornell, temps in the mid 40s today. But, I suppose there will be more pretty soon. :o)

Jbuck- Yes, a few places would do just fine, maybe Lac La Belle, Lake Medora or some where on the North Shore between Eagle River and Copper Harbor. But that dream will have to wait with Nate still in school and work, lol. It's fun to dream tho, Marty and I had a great trip as well.
