A late "GOOD MORNING",had to go and work for a few hour's. Every little bit helps this time of the year.

Good Morning. I have an off the wall question that could be related to pasties, actually. How are parsnips, turnips, rutabagas, and swedes different or alike, or whatever? I know that some pasty recipes call for swedes, but then the other questions arise. My questions is just to answer my curiosity. If this is not appropriate for here, please move it or remove it. I don't really know, Marianne. I would like an answer to that also. I have heard that they're all very close, though I've never even heard of swedes. I know I always use rutabagas. I like the little sweet flavor they add to the pasties. Speaking of which, I am getting hungry for some.

Marianne, after searching the net, swedes are the same as rutabagas, only called 'swedes' in the U.K.

Speaking of food;

Made pasta sauce early this morning. It's been simmering all day. Used Italian sausage, tomatoes and green peppers from last summer's garden, onions, mushrooms, fresh garlic, Romano cheese, chicken broth Italian herbs, parsley and wine. Well, a little wine, most of it is in me and the Poohster. :)

The snow is melting and it's not right. Heard a few snowmobilers this morning. Bet their ride didn't last long.

It better snow...got Pooh snowshoes for Christmas.

That reminded me of something I once heard Julia Child say..."I like to cook with wine." ;>
You can always book an Alaskan cruise for Pooh.
No snow in our forecast....supposed to reach 70F Monday!
