Hockey season has returned to the Copper Country, with Pasty.NET streaming high school and college games once again. Yesterday when Edie and I were in Mohawk for a spaghetti dinner fundraiser, I was reminded of the "Glacia Dome" that once stood near the school, a facility that operated from about 1908 to 1932. It's name was derived from the first artificial ice rink, the Glaciarium, which advertised:
"The area of artificial ice is extremely convenient for such as may be desirous of engaging in the graceful and manly pastime of skating"
