The Santa Train at the Houghton County Historical Museum in Lake Linden was busy transporting youngsters and their families around the campus last Saturday and Steve Haagen had his family on hand there to enjoy the fun. After boarding the train and riding around the wintry tracks, the kids were treated to some cookies from Mrs. Santa and a visit with the jolly big man himself, so they could tell him what they'd like him to bring them this year. By the smile on Steve's little man in that last photo, I'm guessing that Santa must have given him the word that he's been a good boy and he'll be bringing him lots of surprises on Christmas Eve.
The joy and wonderment of little kids this time of year is amazing. Try to look at the world around you, the way a child does and you'll see so much more to smile about each day.
