Besides the guys actually standing on skates, there are probably others like Gipp and the drivers in cars who are skaters.

Is that a hockey stick in hand?

I learned this morning that when posting messages here that we were supposed 2 put name, where we're from and put e-mail if we wanted 2, as the following Pasty page from 8 years ago today from Internet Archives shows:

Congratulations to all o' ya!
Gormfrog, your post reminds me of a line from "True Grit", when after a meal, Kim Darby's character is offered another 'helping' and her response is that she's had enough...."and enough is a feast". (paraphrasing)

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Saturday, November 17, 2012 - 09:25 am:

I bet there were skaters trying to get down the street in the 2000 picture!!

The holiday season officially starts out here today. We have our holiday home tour. It's really a lot of fun seeing these houses all decorated from top to bottom. Should be fun!!

Have a great weekend, everybody.

Thomas, you are correct...STILL not supposed to be a "Chat Room", and not supposed to answer individuals (supposed to use personal email that you provide). But site has "morphed" a tad.."What is the Acceptable Use Policy for the Pasty Cam?" is not strictly adhered to, really never has been. Seems to work the way it is for the "daily group"...but we probably should use personal email more when appropriate.

for some

By JH (Thumbgardener) on Saturday, November 17, 2012 - 11:16 am:

I agree with you mickill.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Saturday, November 17, 2012 - 11:23 am:

I think it depends on whether or not you're talking about the pictures, or something U.P. To just carry on a conversation, back and forth numerous times is one thing, but to just mention something once is another thing.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Saturday, November 17, 2012 - 11:27 am:

I find the conversation gromfrog is having with Thomas interesting.

By Mary Drew at Pasty Central (Mdrew) on Saturday, November 17, 2012 - 04:01 pm:

In reference to what Pat and Glenda (Gormfrog) posted about the Acceptable Use Policy, it reads as such regarding the What'sUP page usage:

"In 2004 we distinguished comments related to the daily picture (Cam Notes) from other miscellaneous conversation in a new feature called "What'sUP". Occasionally the conversation on this supplemental page will include topics other than strictly U.P. related. On the daily "Cam Notes" picture page, please keep comments on the topic, and use "What'sUP" to post other items of interest, such as community event's, suggestions, and general conversation."

As a daily editor, I take that to mean that you can have a GENERAL CONVERSATION, just not go back and forth a number of times if it's just between two people in particular.
Replying to a comment someone has made once or twice, would be classified as GENERAL CONVERSATION, but actually carrying on a back and forth many times between just two individuals would be considered "chat" and would be better conducted through personal email. That's the way I interpret the policy. Hope this helps to clarify things a bit. :-)

Mary, in answer to your response, it wasn't Gormfrog that "questioned" the discrepancy, it was Thomas.

This is a great site but it tends to get a bit like a clique.

I went back about four years ago and the posts were fun....miss those days. What happened to all of those posters? Gone, wonder why?

I totally agree with mickill and Thumbgardener, sorry, I know I will be in the minority but that's how I feel.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Saturday, November 17, 2012 - 04:55 pm:

Because I have not yet been revoked and or removed, I feel my conversations meet the rules, despite how some may interpret them. I have met a lot of friends here that I correspond on FaceBook and private e mail. Mary & Charlie you do a great job maintaining and monitoring this site. Wether we agree with one another or not, we all have to agree this is an excellent site to catch a Yooper Fix! Thank You for making this site possible!

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Saturday, November 17, 2012 - 06:32 pm:

When I do post a comment or something, then to have someone come along and make a comment about MY post and then end it with, 'just saying' really and truly makes me want to not post anything at all.

I use to really like posting out here when I first came across it when I still lived in Auburn Hills....just not that much anymore. I am not 'just saying this'...I mean it.

I will always love coming out here and look at the pictures and everything else..just not to post that much anymore.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Saturday, November 17, 2012 - 07:40 pm:

Mary and Charlie do a really great job at monitoring all of us and our conversations. A great big thank you to them for all of their hard work on this site. It's really an enjoyable site.

Hmmmm, I wonder why those posters are gone too........

By Cheryl Rozman (Cotton) on Saturday, November 17, 2012 - 08:36 pm:

I'm here!!! I've been away for awhile but it CERTAINLY wasn't because of anything said or done on here. I still love Pasty but just have been away for awhile. Mary & Charlie have always done a great job maintaining this site & all should be thankful that we have Pasty.com to come to to visit our beautiful Upper Peninsula.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Saturday, November 17, 2012 - 09:05 pm:

I know November's hard on you, Cheryl. Hope you're doing okay!!

By Waveaction (Lakelover) on Sunday, November 18, 2012 - 06:58 am:

I know why the posters are gone.
