Good Morning. There are some really nice photos in today's review, thank you! To the hunters on Pasty.com, wishing you a very safe season, good luck, and have fun. :-)

Watch out, Bambi!

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Thursday, November 15, 2012 - 09:19 am:

The other day some guy stopped wondering if he could hunt in our fields. He said he has seen a big buck about. No I said. Apparently he's seen the same big buck I have seen down there. Today is the Great American Smoke Out, those who are partaking, you can do it!!

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Thursday, November 15, 2012 - 09:56 am:

I used to be a smoker until back in the early ninety's. That's when they rose up the price per pack by 50 cents and the Scotsman in me said "No way!" Good luck to those who are tying now. Just keep thinking about the extra money you will have and how much better you will feel.

Hafta wonder why there's never a "Great American Drink Out" day. hmmm

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Thursday, November 15, 2012 - 03:01 pm:

My cousin got a nice 6 point buck this morning at 8:30am! Congrats, Art!

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Thursday, November 15, 2012 - 03:31 pm:

Jbuck, congrats to your cousin, Art, that's one less wanderer on the road to worry about. My post on 'Bambi' was tongue in cheek. I have no problem with hunting....matter of fact, I promote it!

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Thursday, November 15, 2012 - 04:50 pm:

Yes, being hit by a Toyota or starving to death in a deer yard during a rough Winter is certainly not a more humane demise than feeding my cousin's family for a few months.

By Waveaction (Lakelover) on Thursday, November 15, 2012 - 04:57 pm:

Yes, Jbuck, that is what deer season is all about. The Yoopers fish all summer and hunt whenever they can, just to be able to survive.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Thursday, November 15, 2012 - 05:50 pm:

and an occasional trip to the supermarket....

By Daveofmohawk (Daveofmohawk) on Thursday, November 15, 2012 - 06:52 pm:

Nothing cheap about venison! I figure it costs about 10 times what the same amount of meat would cost from the grocery store. (that's only if you don't count the cost of all the beverages consumed at camp)

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Thursday, November 15, 2012 - 07:06 pm:

I hear ya dave, it's quite expensive to hunt especially in a state where you have to pay enormous amounts to buy a deer lease like in Texas. However, for me it has never been about the meat but rather the chance to escape the office and be one with nature while experiencing the challenge of the hunt, no matter the species......

Sheesh someone smack me; I'm starting to sound like Ted Nugent!! ;-)

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Thursday, November 15, 2012 - 07:35 pm:

Hey, Ted tells it like it is!

By Uncle Chuck (Unclechuck) on Thursday, November 15, 2012 - 09:56 pm:

We saw 4 doe's today, had lunch at the Lac La Belle Lodge, my phone didn't ring once. Then I took my Aunt & Uncle and Marty to the Whitehouse in Mohawk for dinner. Marty and I then drove up Brockway to check out the stars and the lights off in the distance. It was a clear night and the sky was FANTASTIC! You can't see that in the big city. Hunting around High Rock Bay and Keystone tomorrow. Having a relaxing time, also looking at property and homes as we drive around.

Good Night CC
