Along with the arrival of the snow here UP North, came the winds to blow it around. It didn't only blow the snow, though, as you can see in the top photo from Albert White, it also blew the remaining leaves around. This one in particular, was blown around and around in a circle, making a pattern in the fresh fallen snow. It must have gotten frozen to the ground before the snow fell and then it danced in the wind!
The leaf in the second photo, from Brenda Leigh may have done some dancing in the storm, too, but then it just decided to lay amongst the snow and tall grasses, reminding us all that here in the North Country, fall has come to an end and we're headlong into winter, no matter what the calendar says.

Round and round the leaf goes, where it stops, nobody knows.......

Albert, I think that belongs in a future Pasty calendar! Weird! That must've been some powerful breeze.

Dick fl: It's a very touching video about the Hematites. It had me in tears for sure. Several relatives have sent me e-mails about it. The link is accessible by going to today's Mining Journal.

It's 8:13 PM and you can see the snow on the Sunset Bay webcam. At first I thought it was stuck but now I think it is moonlight! Wow!
