The skies have turned colder here UP North, but you'd never know it by the night time display of Northern Lights last Tuesday, as they seemed to heat up the skyline. Shawn Malone was out there in the cold night hours, snapping away, so that we could be snug in our beds and then enjoy the view from the warmth of our homes in her photos. When an Aurora is dancing in the skies like this, you get an array of colors, from fluorescent green, to reds, along with a streak of purple glowing over Lake Superior in the last shot.
Shawn's photos here today, show that even in the dark, the U.P. is a beautiful place to be.

Amazing photos! I've never had the thrill of seeing the Northern Lights. Maybe they'll be out the beginning of December, when I plan a quick trip UP.

How beautiful! Diana, I've been waiting all of my life to see this, too. I hope I get the chance. For now, I guess those fantastic photos will have to do.

Can you just wonder what kind of paint and brush "HE", uses. Every time I see a sunset or sun rise, and the northern lights I'am in awe.
