Mike Schneider had the opportunity to capture some of the recent cloud activity going on in the skies over the Marquette area. In his first shot, he commented that it looked like these wispy clouds "...were trying to imitate the Northern Lights, a bit." I'd have to agree with his observation and am excited that these Northern Lights will be able to be viewed during waking hours, rather than the dark of night.

In the second photo, Mike captured some ominous looking storm clouds as they pass by Marquette's Upper Harbor Light. Those dark clouds are just about to snuff out the sunlight and I imagine bring some rain or snow with them, too.

Mike's last cloud shot, is another over Superior's waters and shows off a very cloud filled skyline as the sun peeks through the corner of them, while going down for the day.
All three of these photos just go to show you that no matter if the skies are happy or angry, there's always some beauty in them to behold, here UP North.

Lo, the tempest!

These are GORGEOUS photos! I love clouds and how they
constantly change over the big lake. We've been home for 3
weeks and are already just dying to get back to the UP.
