Back a week or so ago, Bob Gilreath made a late fall visit to the Porcupine Mountains, Lake of the Clouds. You can see by his photos, that the cloud cover and perhaps some fog, too, were hanging out just above the Lake, so it gives you a good idea of why this beautiful area was called, Lake of the Clouds. Even with the colors gone, it's still such a beautiful place to visit. One of those spots here in the U.P., that brings you peace of mind and heart, just by being there. Thanks Bob, for transporting us there.

We always go to the Porkies for our fall trip UP. Love it there! Very nice visitors' center, too. The walkway is a big plus!

I love all the colors of Autumn but I think my favorite are the birches! They look like they're covered in gold coins.
